Manama, May 25 (BNA): Seventy Karate Students competed in the JKA Bahrain Tournament hosted by JKA Bahrain Muharraq Branch. Four JKA Centers participated in the Tournament; Budaiya Main Branch, Karate Academy Muharaq, Central Manama JKA Dojo, and also JKA Saudi Arabia Eastern Province (Sensei Fawaz Merheb).

The Tournament was operated in-line with JKA Japan Tournament Rules and Regulations involving five official and certified judges. The Tournament was also supported by many Parents of the juniors, and attended by many. Most youngsters and adults have been training for months to be able to take part in this event. These students are trained on Karate as an art.


JKA Bahrain was granted official license from Japan in 2007 with over 200 registered members.  JKA Bahrain main branch, setup in Budaiya, has a combination of instructors; full time and volunteer instructors. Other Karate Centers in Bahrain, Muharaq and Central Manama, have been affiliated under JKA. Karate is an ancient practice but still being favorite because true karate is based on Bushido.  In true karate, the body, mind and spirit the whole person must be developed simultaneously.
